What are the foods I should avoid during pregnancy?

Raw Meat
Uncooked seafood and rare or undercooked beef or poultry should be avoided because of the risk of contamination with coliform bacteria, toxoplasmosis, and salmonella.

Deli Meat
Deli meats have been known to be contaminated with listeria, which can cause miscarriage. Listeria has the ability to cross the placenta and may infect the baby leading to infection or blood poisoning, which may be life-threatening. If you are pregnant and you are considering eating deli meats, make certain that you reheat the meat until it is steaming .

Fish with Mercury
Fish that contain high levels of mercury should be avoided. Mercury consumed during pregnancy has been linked to developmental delays and brain damage. A sample of these types of fish include: shark, swordfish, king mackerel, and tilefish. Canned, chunk light tuna generally has a lower amount of mercury than other tuna, but still should only be eaten in moderation. Certain types of fish used in sushi should also be avoided due to high levels of mercury. Please see Mercury in Fish for specific types of fish and further information on how to calculate mercury levels.

Smoked Seafood
Refrigerated, smoked seafood often labeled as lox, nova style, kippered, or jerky should be avoided because it could be contaminated with Listeria. (These are safe to eat when they are in an ingredient in a meal that has been cooked, like a casserole.) This type of fish is often found in the deli section of your grocery store. Canned or shelf-safe smoked seafood is usually OK to eat.

Fish Exposed to Industrial Pollutants
Avoid fish from contaminated lakes and rivers that may be exposed to high levels of polychlorinated biphenyls. This is primarily for those who fish in local lakes and streams. These fish include: bluefish, striped bass, salmon, pike, trout, and walleye. Contact the local health department or Environmental Protection Agency to determine which fish are safe to eat in your area. Remember, this is regarding fish caught in local waters and not fish from your local grocery store.

Raw Shellfish
The majority of seafood-borne illness is caused by undercooked shellfish, which include oysters, clams, and mussels. Cooking helps prevent some types of infection, but it does not prevent the algae-related infections that are associated with red tides. Raw shellfish pose a concern for everybody, and they should be avoided altogether during pregnancy.

Raw Eggs: Raw eggs or any foods that contain raw eggs should be avoided because of the potential exposure to salmonella. Some homemade Caesar dressings, mayonnaise, homemade ice cream or custards, and Hollandaise sauces may be made with raw eggs.

If the recipe is cooked at some point, this will reduce the exposure to salmonella. Commercially manufactured ice cream, dressings, and eggnog are made with pasteurized eggs and do not increase the risk of salmonella. Restaurants should be using pasteurized eggs in any recipe that is made with raw eggs, such as Hollandaise sauce or dressings.

Soft Cheeses: Imported soft cheeses may contain bacteria called Listeria, which can cause miscarriage. Listeria has the ability to cross the placenta and may infect the baby leading to infection or blood poisoning, which can be life-threatening. You would need to avoid soft cheeses such as: Brie, Camembert, Roquefort, Feta, Gorgonzola and Mexican style cheeses that include queso blanco and queso fresco, unless they clearly state that they are made from pasteurized milk. All soft non-imported cheeses made with pasteurized milk are safe to eat.

Un pasteurized Milk
Un pasteurized milk may contain a bacteria called listeria, which can cause miscarriage. Listeria has the ability to cross the placenta and may infect the baby leading to infection or blood poisoning, which can be life-threatening. Make sure that any milk you drink is pasteurized.

Pate
Refrigerated pate or meat spreads should be avoided because they may contain the bacteria listeria. Canned pate, or shelf-safe meat spreads can be eaten.

Caffeine
Although most studies show that caffeine intake in moderation is OK, there are others that show that caffeine intake may be related to miscarriages. Avoid caffeine during the first trimester to reduce the likelihood of a miscarriage. As a general rule, caffeine should be limited to fewer than 200 mg per day during pregnancy. Caffeine is a diuretic, which means it helps eliminate fluids from the body. This can result in water and calcium loss. It is important that you are drinking plenty of water, juice, and milk rather than caffeinated beverages. Some research shows that large amounts of caffeine are associated with miscarriage, premature birth, low birth weight, and withdrawal symptoms in infants. The safest thing is to refrain from consuming caffeine.

Alcohol
There is NO amount of alcohol that is known to be safe during pregnancy, and therefore alcohol should be avoided during pregnancy. Prenatal exposure to alcohol can interfere with the healthy development of the baby. Depending on the amount, timing, and pattern of use, alcohol consumption during pregnancy can lead to Fetal Alcohol Syndrome or other developmental disorders. If you consumed alcohol before you knew you were pregnant, stop drinking now. You should continue to avoid alcohol during breastfeeding. Exposure of alcohol to an infant poses harmful risks, and alcohol does reach the baby during breastfeeding.

Unwashed Vegetables
Yes, vegetables are safe to eat, so you still need to eat them. However, it is essential to make sure they are washed to avoid potential exposure to toxoplasmosis. Toxoplasmosis may contaminate the soil where the vegetables were grown.

Ban the Use of Carbide Gas to Ripen Fruits

A survey by CAP shows that Malaysians are consuming toxic fruits which are ripened by a hazardous chemical, calcium carbide. This poses great health risks to consumers.

Calcium carbide has cancer-causing properties and is capable of causing neurological disorders. It can result in tingling sensation, numbness and peripheral neuropathy. If pregnant women consume fruit ripened with carbide, the children born could develop abnormalities.

The use of calcium carbide is not only toxic to consumers, it may also be harmful to those who handle it. It affects the neurological system, resulting in headache, dizziness, mood disturbances, sleepiness, mental confusion and seizures on a short-term basis, while in the long-term it can cause memory loss and cerebral oedema.

The use of carbide gas from calcium carbide to ripen fruits is extremely hazardous to the human body as calcium carbide also contains traces of arsenic and phosphorus. The practice of ripening fruits using carbide is banned in many other countries but it is freely used in Malaysia.

We are shocked that the Ministry of Agriculture and Primary Industries and the Ministry of Health had not curbed this widespread health problem despite CAP raising this commonly-known problem since 1975 -- over 36 years ago! The Ministry of Agriculture and Primary Industries should not be just promoting agricultural productivity, but it should more importantly, ensure the production of healthy agricultural produce. What is the point of producing more agricultural products that is unsafe to be eaten? The encouragement of the use of pesticides, chemical fertilisers and other chemical inputs by the Ministry of Agriculture and Primary Industries must be stopped.

In our survey, we found fruit farmers and wholesalers rampantly using carbide gas to ripen a variety of fruits such as bananas, mangoes, pineapples and papayas. Calcium carbide is also easily available in rural shops at RM5.50 per kilogram. The packaging showed pictures of various fruits that can be ripened by the calcium carbide.

According to a farmer, he uses about 200 grams of calcium carbide to ripen 30 kilograms of mangoes. The calcium carbide is wrapped in newspaper and placed in an enclosed box filled with the mangoes.

A “goreng pisang” (banana fritters) seller says he buys cheap immature bananas from damaged trees and then placed the banana in a box together with some calcium blocks. Within 24 hours all the bananas will be ripened at the same time.

In natural conditions, fruits get ripened by the action of a ripening hormone in the fruit which produces ethylene naturally. The use of calcium carbide is dangerous as it produces acetylene gas which is flammable and explosive even at a low concentration as compared to ethylene.

When calcium carbide is used for artificial ripening, a chemical reaction takes place because of the moisture content in the fruit. Heat and acetylene gas are produced and the ripening process is hastened. However, fruits ripened with calcium carbide are soft and have good peel/skin colour but poor in flavour. They also have a shorter shelf-life. An artificially ripened banana would present a yellow outer skin, but the flesh inside may not be ripe and remains green and raw.

During natural ripening, a wide spectrum of biochemical changes takes place such chlorophyll degradation, biosynthesis of carotenoids (antioxidants, immune system booster, anti-cancer agent), anthocyanins (powerful antioxidants), essential oils, and flavour and aroma components. But all these healthy chemical changes which enhance the quality of the fruit are lost with artificial ripening. Besides being toxic, artificially-ripened fruits are less nutritious.

In India the use of calcium carbide to induce ripening is banned under the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, and offenders are liable to face a six-month imprisonment and fines.

In view of the toxic effects of artificially-ripened fruits by calcium carbide, CAP calls on the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture and Primary Industries to ban its use.

Meanwhile consumers are advised to observe the following when buying fruits:

1. Do not choose fruits that are attractive on the outside as they may not be good for health. Fruits that have a uniform colour, for example, a bunch of bananas having a uniform colour, are more likely to have been artificially ripened.

2. Wash the fruits thoroughly before consuming. Keep them under running water for a few minutes, so that the chemicals are washed away.

3. Do not buy fruits sold during their off season, as they are more likely to be artificially ripened.

4. While eating mangoes and papayas, always remove the peel before cutting fruits into pieces.

The Dirty Dozen Food Additives You Really Need to be Aware Of

In the United States, more than 3,000 substances can be added to foods for the purpose of preservation, coloring, texture, increasing flavor and more. While each of these substances is legal to use (at least here in the States), whether or not they are all something you want to be consuming is another story all together

With any processed food you run the risk of coming across additives, and reading through ingredient labels can be like trying to decode a puzzle.

Of course, eating largely fresh, whole foods is the best way to stay away from unsavory additives, but, assuming you do include some processed foods in your diet, the following additives are ones you surely want to stay away from. Look for them on ingredient labels and if one turns up, take a pass.

Propyl Gallate

This preservative, used to prevent fats and oils from spoiling, might cause cancer. It's used in vegetable oil, meat products, potato sticks, chicken soup base and chewing gum, and is often used with BHA and BHT (see below).

BHA and BHT

Butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) are used similarly to propyl gallate -- to keep fats and oils from going rancid. Used commonly in cereals, chewing gum, vegetable oil and potato chips (and also in some food packaging to preserve freshness), these additives have been found by some studies to cause cancer in rats. If a brand you commonly buy uses these additives, look for a different variety, as not all manufacturers use these preservatives.

Potassium Bromate

This additive is used in breads and rolls to increase the volume and produce a fine crumb structure. Although most bromate breaks down into bromide, which is harmless, the bromate that does remain causes cancer in animals. Bromate has been banned throughout the world, except for in the United States and Japan. In California, a cancer warning would likely be required if it were used, which is why it is rarely used in that state.

Monosodium glutamate (MSG)

MSG is used as a flavor enhancer in many packaged foods, including soups, salad dressings, sausages, hot dogs, canned tuna, potato chips and many more. According to Dr. Russell Blaylock, an author and neurosurgeon, there is a link between sudden cardiac death, particularly in athletes, and excitotoxic damage caused by food additives like MSG and artificial sweeteners. Excitotoxins are, according to Dr. Blaylock, "A group of excitatory amino acids that can cause sensitive neurons to die."

Many consumers have also personally experienced the ill effects of MSG, which leave them with a headache, nausea or vomiting after eating MSG-containing foods. Aspartame (Equal, NutraSweet)

This artificial sweetener is found in Equal and NutraSweet, along with products that contain them (diet sodas and other low-cal and diet foods). This sweetener has been found to cause brain tumors in rats as far back as the 1970s, however a more recent study in 2005 found that even small doses increase the incidence of lymphomas and leukemia in rats, along with brain tumors.

People who are sensitive to aspartame may also suffer from headaches, dizziness and hallucinations after consuming it.

Acesulfame-K

Acesulfame-K is an artificial sweetener that's about 200 times sweeter than sugar. It's used in baked goods, chewing gum, gelatin desserts and soft drinks. Two rat studies have found that this substance may cause cancer, and other studies to reliably prove this additive's safety have not been conducted. Acesulfame-K also breaks down into acetoacetamide, which has been found to affect the thyroid in rats, rabbits and dogs.

Olestra

Olestra is a fat substitute used in crackers and potato chips, marketed under the brand name Olean. This synthetic fat is not absorbed by the body (instead it goes right through it), so it can cause diarrhea, loose stools, abdominal cramps and flatulence, along with other effects. Further, olestra reduces the body's ability to absorb beneficial fat-soluble nutrients, including lycopene, lutein and beta-carotene.

Sodium Nitrite (Sodium Nitrate)

Sodium nitrite (or sodium nitrate) is used as a preservative, coloring and flavoring in bacon, ham, hot dogs, luncheon meats, corned beef, smoked fish and other processed meats. These additives can lead to the formation of cancer-causing chemicals called nitrosamines.

Some studies have found a link between consuming cured meats and nitrite and cancer in humans.

Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil

The process used to make hydrogenated vegetable oil (or partially hydrogenated vegetable oil) creates trans fats, which promote heart disease and diabetes. The Institute of Medicine has advised that consumers should eat as little trans fat as possible. You should avoid anything with these ingredients on the label, which includes some margarine, vegetable shortening, crackers, cookies, baked goods, salad dressings, bread and more. It's used because it reduces cost and increases the shelf life and flavor stability of foods.

Blue 1 and Blue 2

Blue 1, used to color candy, beverages and baked goods, may cause cancer. Blue 2, found in pet food, candy and beverages, has caused brain tumors in mice.

Red 3

This food coloring is used in cherries (in fruit cocktails), baked goods and candy. It causes thyroid tumors in rats, and may cause them in humans as well.

Yellow 6

As the third most often used food coloring, yellow 6 is found in many products, including backed goods, candy, gelatin and sausages. It has been found to cause adrenal gland and kidney tumors, and contains small amounts of many carcinogens.

The link leads to a post on a Chinese movie blog that protests the city of Jinhua in Zhejiang province of China holding a “Dog Meat Festival” next month on October 18th, similar to the annual beer festival in Qingdao except involving dog meat and people who enjoy eating dog meat.

Due to popular opposition, the festival has already been cancelled and it appears that the campaign now is to ask the Jinhua local government what will happen to the dogs that were originally prepared for the festival.

Aromatic rice from Wuchang, Heilongjiang Province, is considered one of the best types of rice in China. In 2009, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine recognized the rice as a local brand, and it sells for considerably more than ordinary rice.

Just 800,000 tons of Wuchang Rice are produced every year, but up to 10 million tons are sold. According to reports by CCTV and Xi'an Evening News reprinted in today's Tibet Business Daily,rice processors in Xi'an have been adding fragrance to ordinary rice and selling it as Wuchang Rice:

Over the course of several days, this reporter visited a number of workshops in and around the Xi'an Grain and Oil Wholesale Market. Although much of the rice used by these processors bore the Wuchang label, it was actually a combination of rice from Hubei, Jiangsu, and the northeast that was masquerading as Heilongjiang Wuchang Rice.

To give the fake rice its aroma, a fragrance was added during processing. This was an open secret. Workers said that half a kilo of fragrance could aromatize ten tons of rice.

Managers in charge of several workshops said that because its price was cheaper than true Wuchang Rice, their rice sold quite well, and was mainly marketed in Henan, Shanxi, Sichuan, Qinghai, and Gansu.

Read this before you eat at Chinese restaurants next time. Every year, two to three million tons of swill-cooked dirty oil, soaked with poisonous carcinogens have sneaked back to our dining tables through an underground muck-money network so rampant that it's an open secret in the industry, the China Youth Daily reported Wednesday.

A deadly toxin found in swill-oil is aflatoxin, which is among the most carcinogenic substances ever known and is 100 times more poisonous than the forbidding white arsenic.

The stomach-turning news report quoted a veteran food professor as saying "about one in ten meals" at the country's restaurants is cooked with such dirty oil, a calculation based on China's annual oil consumption of 22.5 million tons.

"You must have eaten the swill oil as well," asserted He Dongping, a professor on oil and toxin with central China's Wuhan Polytechnic University, and also a leading specialist with China's Food and Oil Standardization Administration, who has spent over seven years on an up-hill task -- how to detect and stop the despicable practice.
According to an undercover investigation in Wuhan by nine senior students of professor He, the conspiracy starts at night when swill-fishers hollow out the stinking hogwash from urban sewages, followed by filtrating, heating, subsiding, dividing, and then in the morning comes out the clear-looking "edible" oil for unwitting customers.

Each fisher could fetch up to four barrels at a time, nearly 300 yuan ($44) easy money every night or over 10,000 yuan ($1,465) a month, a lucrative deal too tempting to resist, especially so when the business was in a trouble-free "anarchy" state, said professor He.

The crux of the matter, in He's opinion, has to do with government management rather than detector gadgets, because without lab equipment, the only reliable counter measure for a common customer so far is special test paper, still a far cry from reality, the professor admitted.

"It might take about 10 years before China could get rid of the swill-oil completely," he said.

Slop oil is “refined” from slop or swill, which is the leftover “food” that people and restaurants throw away. Another name is “地沟油”, “gutter oil” or “drainage oil”, because the oil is recovered from the sewer drains coming out of restaurants. Usually, slop or swill is fed to pigs but some unscrupulous people will gather the slop and “recycle” the oil in the slop to sell as cooking oil. Of course, this cooking oil is known as “slop oil” and it is cheaper than fresh cooking oil. Many street vendors who cook snacks (especially fried foods) may use this “slop oil” to save money and keep their costs low.

This quickly, the problem has resurged. There are city residents who say this is not strange, is common, and is expected. With the supervision of some supervisory departments these days being “a gust of wind”, a problem is exposed, the leadership [government officials] will make some comments, there will be some on-site investigations, but they will see how the wind blows as they investigate and if no one continues asking and no one is after their positions/jobs, the investigations will stop there. Then, they will continue their own (tenured) lives of officialdom. [They will] let the same old problems wait until the next time they are exposed before saying anything. If they are not exposed, [they] won’t say anything.

Stall : Banquet (Malay Nasi Padang shop)
What happened? : I got a rubber band chewed while I was eating my Nasi Padang. Initially I thought that orange color thing was the carrot piece. That day I was eating "sotong" squid too. So I didnt realized it. I only realized it only only when I felt that something was amiss when I am chewing it!

That was a terrible experience. people should also watch out for sandy veggi too when they ordered the cooked spinach at that stall. because they did not wash the veggie properly. Sometimes you could see the roots in your veggies too! I have experienced sandy veggie once from that stall too.

I am not attacking the stall as I liked the food and cooking there. However on and off I got those problem. I should probably complain to the food stall next time.

Other bad experience at eating out:
The dish washer piece found in the food of Old Changkee shop (Raffles Place) and Indian vegetarian stall at Lau Pa Sat.

以下這幾幅相是每位潛水員最不想見到的場面。新年假期有一班香港潛水員到菲律賓Philippines潛水時於淺水海面發現有條年幼鯨鯊(就是鄭依健幫WWF拍宣揚海洋保育那種魚，它是海洋最大種魚類，成年可長12米，重二十噸。但品性惇良，大嘴無牙，專吃浮游生物，絕不襲擊人)，其後將它救起，竟發現它的魚鰭全部被割走(等同將它的手手腳腳全部割斷)，其後它就慢慢流血離開了海洋。

魚鰭就是中國人認為最珍貴的魚翅，但其實魚翅本身沒有味道，全靠高湯的鮮味。現在全球每年捕殺一億條鯊魚，鯊魚繁殖緩慢。如果繼續大量捕殺下去，衹會使鯊魚絕種，破壞海洋生態鏈。而且鯊魚身處海洋生物鏈頂層，生平吃了很多其他魚類，體內積聚不少水銀和重金屬，故魚翅含水銀，不宜多吃。

消費剌激生產，只要減少市場對魚翅的需求，就能令漁民少殺鯊魚，為海洋保育。(真的希望我們的餐廳不賣魚翅 )

看見它(上岸)後, 頭部動了幾次......十分鐘後再動.......十多分鐘後再動.........二十分鐘後再動.....血水在傷囗慢慢流出, 這景像一世永印在我心中.

四十分鐘後,它再沒游動. 沒有魚之骨架... 再沒法擺動原本在身上, 將來可能在桌上魚 ....一切回復平靜, 可能它尚有一點氣息, 可能真的解脫還要更長時間, 只是再沒氣力了........ 我們只可等政府人員到場交待事件.

真的有需要食魚翅嗎? 一世它的影像都會在我腦海...

今次係我第二次親眼見到鯨鯊，但今次係極度唔開心同心痛，眼光光只可以見鯨鯊BB所有魚鯕冇晒，慢慢在極度殘忍，痛苦中流鮮血等死 {求生不得、求死不能}，自己感受到好羞恥，決定以後唔再食魚翅 .......

Our Turtles are very close on becoming Extinct!!!

In the late 1950s, The beaches on the East Coast of Peninsula Malaysia ( Kelantan, Trengganu, Pahang ) were literally swarming with turtles of diverse species during the egg laying season. In the local wet markets almost every other stall were selling turtle eggs. The smaller turtle eggs were plentiful and cheap; about 2 to 4 cents each. Those of the larger leatherback turtle were not as popular ( quality wise ) but nevertheless just as readily available.

In October of 2001, my sister (original author's) started getting very sick. She had stomach spasms and she was having a hard time getting around. Walking was a major chore. It took everything she had just to get out of bed; she was in so much pain.

By March 2002, she had undergone several tissue and muscle biopsies and was on 24 various prescription medications. The doctors could not determine what was wrong with her. She was in so much pain, and so sick she just knew she was dying.

She put her house, bank accounts, life insurance, etc.., in her oldest daughter's name, and made sure that her younger children were to be taken care of. She also wanted her last hooray, so she planned a trip to Florida (basically in a wheelchair) for March 22nd.

On March 19 I called her to ask how her most recent tests went, and she said they didn't find anything on the test, but they believe she had MS. I recalled an article a friend of mine e-mailed to me and I asked my sister if she drank diet soda? She told me that she did.. As a matter of fact, she was getting ready to crack one open that moment.

I told her not to open it, and to stop drinking the diet soda! I e-mailed her article my friend, a lawyer, had sent. My sister called me within 32 hours after our phone conversation and told me she had stopped drinking the diet soda AND she could walk! The muscle spasms went away. She said she didn't feel 100% but, she sure felt a lot better.

She told me she was going to her doctor with this article and would call me when she got home.

Well, she called me, and said her doctor was amazed! He is going to call all of his MS patients to find out if they consumed artificial sweeteners of any kind. In a nutshell, she was being poisoned by the Aspartame in the diet soda...and literally dying a slow and miserable death.

When she got to Florida March 22, all she had to take was one pill, and that was a pill for the Aspartame poisoning! She is well on her way to a complete recovery. And she is walking! No wheelchair!

I have spent several days lecturing at the WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL

CONFERENCE on 'ASPARTAME,' marketed as 'Nutra Sweet,' 'Equal,' and 'Spoonful.'

In the keynote address by the EPA, it was announced that in the United States in 2001 there is an epidemic of multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus. It was difficult to determine exactly what toxin was causing this to be rampant. I stood up and said that I was there to lecture on exactly that subject. I will explain why Aspartame is so dangerous: When the temperature of this sweetener exceeds 86 degrees F, the wood alcohol in ASPARTAME converts to formaldehyde and then to formic acid , which in turn causes metabolic acidosis..

Formic acid is the poison found in the sting of fire ants. The methanol toxicity mimics, among other conditions, multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus.

Many people were being diagnosed in error. Although multiple sclerosis is not a death sentence, Methanol toxicity is!

Systemic lupus has become almost as rampant as multiple sclerosis, especially with Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi drinkers.

The victim usually does not know that the Aspartame is the culprit. He or she continues its use; irritating the lupus to such a degree that it may become a life-threatening condition. We have seen patients with systemic lupus become asymptotic, once taken off diet sodas.

In cases of those diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, most of the symptoms disappear. We've seen many cases where vision loss returned and hearing loss improved markedly.

This also applies to cases of tinnitus and fibromyalgia. During a lecture, I said, 'If you are using ASPARTAME (Nutra Sweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc ) and you suffer from fibromyalgia symptoms, spasms, shooting, pains, numbness in your legs, Cramps, Vertigo, Dizziness, Headaches, Tinnitus,
Joint pain, Unexplainable depression, anxiety attacks, slurred speech, blurred vision, or memory loss you probably have ASPARTAME poisoning!' People were jumping up during the lecture saying, 'I have some of these symptoms.. Is it reversible?'

Yes! Yes! Yes!
STOP drinking diet sodas and be alert for Aspartame on food labels! Many products are fortified with it! This is a serious problem.

Dr. Espart (one of my speakers) remarked that so many people seem to be symptomatic for MS and during his recent visit to a hospice; a nurse stated that six of her friends, who were heavy Diet Coke addicts, had all been diagnosed with MS. This is beyond coincidence!

Diet soda is NOT a diet product! It is a chemically altered, multiple SODIUM (salt) and ASPARTAME containing product that actually makes you crave carbohydrates.

It is far more likely to make you GAIN weight!

These products also contain formaldehyde, which stores in the fat cells, particularly in the hips and thighs. Formaldehyde is an absolute toxin and is used primarily to preserve 'tissue specimens.'

Many products we use every day contain this chemical but we SHOULD NOT store it IN our body!

Dr. H. J. Roberts stated in his lectures that once free of the 'diet products' and with no significant increase in exercise; his patients lost an average of 19 pounds over a trial period.

Aspartame is especially dangerous for diabetics. We found that some physicians, who believed that they had a patient with retinopathy, in fact, had symptoms caused by Aspartame. The Aspartame drives the blood sugar out of control. Thus diabetics may suffer acute memory loss due to the fact that aspartic acid and phenylalanine are NEUROTOXIC when taken without the other amino acids necessary for a good balance.

Treating diabetes is all about BALANCE. Especially with diabetics, the Aspartame passes the blood/brain barrier and it then deteriorates the neurons of the brain; causing various levels of brain damage, Seizures, Depression, Manic depression, Panic attacks, Uncontrollable anger and rage.

Consumption of Aspartame causes these same symptoms in non-diabetics as well. Documentation and observation also reveal that thousands of children diagnosed with ADD and ADHD have had complete turnarounds in their behavior when these chemicals have been removed from their diet.

So called 'behavior modification prescription drugs' (Ritalin and others) are no longer needed. Truth be told, they were never NEEDED in the first place!

Most of these children were being 'poisoned' on a daily basis with the very foods that were 'better for them than sugar.'

It is also suspected that the Aspartame in thousands of pallets of diet Coke and diet Pepsi consumed by men and women fighting in the Gulf War, may be partially to blame for the well-known Gulf War Syndrome.

Dr. Roberts warns that it can cause birth defects, i.e. mental retardation, if taken at the time of conception and during early pregnancy. Children are especially at risk for neurological disorders and should NEVER be given artificial sweeteners.

There are many different case histories to relate of children suffering grand malseizures and other neurological disturbances talking about a plague of neurological diseases directly caused by the use of this deadly poison.'

Herein lies the problem:
There were Congressional Hearings when Aspartame was included in 100 different products and strong objection was made concerning its use. Since this initial hearing, there have been two subsequent hearings, and still nothing has been done. The drug and chemical lobbies have very deep pockets.

Sadly, MONSANTO'S patent on Aspartame has EXPIRED! There are now over 5,000 products on the market that contain this deadly chemical and there will be thousands more introduced. Everybody wants a 'piece of the Aspartame pie.'

I assure you that MONSANTO, the creator of Aspartame, knows how deadly it is. And isn't it ironic that MONSANTO funds, among others, the American Diabetes Association, the American Dietetic Association and the Conference of the American

College of Physicians?

This has been recently exposed in the New York Times.
These [organizations] cannot criticize any additives or convey their link to MONSANTO because they take money from the food industry and are required to endorse their products.

Senator Howard Metzenbaum wrote and presented a bill that would require label warnings on products containing Aspartame, especially regarding pregnant women, children and infants.

The bill would also institute independent studies on the known dangers and the problems existing in the general population regarding seizures, changes in brain chemistry, neurological changes and behavioral symptoms.

The bill was killed. It is known that the powerful drug and chemical lobbies are responsible for this, letting loose the hounds of disease and death on an unsuspecting and uninformed public. Well, you're informed now!

Wanna eat KFC?

It happened again!

One day usual my friend and I went to the nearby KFC to have our dinner. After ordered the burger and combo set,
we found a place and sit down.

Everything was like normal, until one guy sitting next to us asked the waiter to his table. However, the waiter did not bother
him so he ran to the counter and "invite" the waiter to his table. My friend and I thought that might be a prank or something.

This time, the waiter came to his table and he showed him the combo plate of chicken that he bought. The guy asked: what is
this inside the chicken meat? Because it was quite a distance so we can't see real clear. The waiter look into the chicken and
replied: sorry Sir, I think it must be our staff carelessly fell down the worms into the chicken while frying..

The guy shouted loudly: WHAT?!! It is not due to careless, it is grew inside the chicken itself!

When we heard the word "worm".. we was like.... Urggggg...crap...due to the guy shouted too loud, therefore the manager has come
to comfort the guy and apologize that will return all his money. However, the guy continue yelling and said: how can you bring out such a
thing for you customer.....

"The milk powder smells better because they add a chemical called vegetable cream powder, which could contain poisonous arsenic, the vendor said. Dried Fruit on Level 5 Alert

KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry has put dried fruit products, particularly plum and prune products, from 16 companies in China , Taiwan and other Asian countries, on Level 5 alert because of their high levels of lead.

Ministry staff will be on the lookout for these products at entry points for 16 manufacturers and distributors to ensure the products do not come into the country, Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said on Thursday.

With a Level 5 alert, the Ministry would hold the products to test them for lead content before they can be released into the market.

The highest alert, Level 6, involves an immediate rejection of the product.

Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the monitoring was started following an Oct 1 US Food and Drug Administration report warning people not to consume dried fruit, including dried plums and prunes, due to lead contamination.

"If a product by a manufacturer or distributor is found to contain more than the permitted two parts per million (ppm), legal action will be taken under the Food Regulations 1985," Liow told reporters after launching the ministry's management conference on Thursday.

If convicted, guilty parties can be fined up to RM100,000, jailed for up to 10 years or both.

Lead, in cumulative amounts over time, causes nervous system disorders and distorts brain development, especially in children.

驚見生肉Mc Deluxe...!

上個星期在公司加班時，一班同事決定以McD當午餐，就派幾位同事walk in 去買McD。
買回來后，就把每個人order的分配下去。
很餓的我在skip掉吃薯條的前奏，雙手拿起McDeluxe,大口咬下去
咦。。很像特別軟的，咬大力些想要扯斷卻怎么也扯不斷
把整個burger拿到眼睛focus范圍內
驚見那塊雞肉竟然是生的，撕掉上面炸雞皮，里面肉發亮粉色半透明的
頓時反胃，馬上拿tissue清掉牙縫間殘留的肉絲。。。
多說無益

后來才知道原來有差不多還有另八個左右同事的MxDeluxe也和我一樣
并不是所有當天我們買的McDeluxe都是生肉，但少數burger是正常的。
同事拿回去換的時候，他們給的理由是有位新員工set錯timer,
但他們其實有發現這個狀況，因為他們有檢查當中幾份。。。
過后吃他們換回來的burger時，牙齒咬到生肉的感覺還揮之不散

SINGAPORE- The agent of a popular mainland canned pork product has initiated a recall and suspended sales after tests showed a sample contained a cancer-causing antibiotic.

The Centre for Food Safety yesterday revealed this after laboratory tests showed a sample of Shanghai Ma Ling B2 340g pork luncheon meat (less sodium) was found to have traces of nitrofurans.

The batch number is B2 5 for the product, which carries a best-before date of December 26, 2009 . According to the sole agent, the canned pork was imported on only two occasions - last December and January this year. The scare spread when Singapore 's Agri -Food and Veterinary Authority detected carcinogenic traces in a consignment of canned pork from Ma Ling and Gulong food processing factories.

These brands have been banned from entering Singapore since August 2007 for containing nitrofurans( an antibiotic for pigs)

刚才放工去了Bayan Baru某炸鸡连锁店吃晚餐，order了最新的HOT Rxxs吃，谁知吃到一半就不对劲，仔细看。。。原来是塑料。
早前都常听说街边的小贩为了要让香蕉糕更香脆都会在油里加点plastic, 想不到现在竟然出现在某炸鸡连锁店里！虽然可以说plastic可能是不小心掉下去的，但这也未免太离谱了。在这里警惕大家在外面吃煎炸食物前请三思。。。

E-Gate Sushi King the Worst Outlet in Penang

1ST INCIDENT

Today 12 October 2009, the 1st day of Sushi King RM2 Bonanza at E-Gate outlet.

I discover a hair, NOSE HAIR or EYEBROW HAIR or who knows...

I requested Assistant Restaurant Manager, Ng Mei Yen to change another plate or same value sushi.

GUESS WHAT... She took it away and never return.

After a while i asked for a replacement. She said "NO REPLACEMENT".
The reason: no more unagi sushi or prawn sushi.

WHICH IS SO UNTRUE!!! There are many prawn sushis hidden in the racks waiting to be served.

2ND INCIDENT

This happened few months ago in the very same outlet.

There was Count the Fish Contest where you dine-in and consume minimum of 5 plates of sushi at Sushi King. Use the receipt during your next visit to Sushi King to redeem a FREE PLATE OF SUSHI!

I consumed (in Gurney Outlet) 5 plate and was given a free temaki (used the voucher below). The receipt shows 5 plates + 1 free plate.

When I made my redemption (during the next), the Assistant Restaurant Manager, Ng Mei Yen assumed i had redeemed the free plate. I explained the free plate is from use of voucher.

Disbelieve of my explanation and she called the Gurney Outlet to confirm. Which was a MOOD SPOILER!!

The wasabi we find these days are found to contain many unknown ingredients. Due to the low supply and high cost of the real wasabi, even wasabi found in 5-star hotels are found to be questionable.

The fake wasabi contains high levels of metals. Though they are within safe levels of consumption, doctors have advised against consuming too much of them.

As we were passing through a fish market, we came upon a very strong scent. We found a lady preparing the wasabi mixture for the raw fish. She told us that she uses "special wasabi powder" which costs only $50/bag and they can make up to several hundred bags of wasabi paste. We even found many restaurants using this special wasabi powder to make the wasabi paste. Why is the scent so strong and what does it really contain? We continued our investigations. The conclusion we came to was the fact that there were special ingredients placed in these "special wasabi powder" even though the label simply indicates "wasabi and permitted flavoring and coloring." Experts indicate that the type of wasabi found in Taiwancannot be freeze-dried and made into powder, so it's very likely that these "special wasabi powder" have been made artificially.

A chinese chemist Wu Jia Cheng says "the label only says what its basic ingredients are but will not say what it artificially contains." Our investigative reporters took the "special wasabi powder" to the lab for testings. Lab results show the powder contains copper, lead and chromium. So how are we going to differentiate the real from the fake wasabi? A little iodine tincture will do the trick.

We found a biochemist who says that "After mixing the wasabi powder to make the paste, simply place a drop of iodine tincture onto the paste and wait 1-2 mins. If you see the brown iodine tincture changing its color into a dark blue color, it indicates the presence of starch within the paste. And within this mixture is the addition of the ingredient "propenyl mustard oil" to make the fake wasabi."

Fake wasabi gives a bright green appearance and a very strong pungent smell that will dissipate within 1/2 hr. Real wasabi is of a much lighter green. A toxicologist warned that long term consumption of this fake wasabi can lead to liver and kidney damages. We should avoid at all cost to protect our health.

哇沙米90%為化學製品，多食有害！

調查中心╱台北報導

現在的哇沙米，有很多是不明成分的化學合成物，因為真正的山葵產量少-價格高，甚至連5星級飯店都不保證用天然山葵，這種化學哇沙米部分含有重金屬，雖然沒有超過標準，但醫師提醒不要多吃。

走到傳統漁市場，一陣嗆味撲鼻而來，仔細一看，原來是賣生魚片的攤位在調哇沙米，老闆娘說她用的是山葵粉，因為這種粉便宜又大碗，50元/包，就可以調成好幾百小包，一般市場小吃店甚至餐廳都喜歡用山葵粉，只是用粉調出來的沾醬，為什麼味道特別濃嗆？這裡頭到底含有什麼成分？
記者一路追蹤到食品行，結果店家給的答案很驚人。業者表示：「我是怕說這會加化學的東西，加減都會，我們說實話，因為它這種東西有加工過，妳聽得懂我的意思嗎？」

雖然外包裝上標示裡頭的內容物有山葵、香料以及合成色素，不過專家質疑，這根本就是化學合成的哇沙米，因為台灣的山葵是不可能冷凍乾燥做成粉。

師大化學教授吳家誠指出：「它裡面的標示只標示出原料，並沒有告訴我們實際上是什麼化學成分，它很可能用這些原料，當然實際上要摻一些這種化學的這個成分，才會得到它這種有哇沙米辛辣的那種味道。」

記者拿[山葵][粉]去化驗，結果檢驗出重金屬成分有銅鉛以及砷等，到底真假哇沙米要怎麼分辨？其實很簡單，一滴碘酒就可以知道答案。

生化博士陳耀寬指出：「我們調和好之後，拿家裡用的碘酒滴一滴在上面，經過一兩分鐘，這個褐色的碘酒，如果變成[藍黑色]的，表示它裡面有澱粉成分存在，那就是說它是用丙烯芥子油加上澱粉，混合而成的假哇沙米。」

化學合成哇沙米顏色鮮綠、味道濃嗆，[純天然的顏色比較淡]，半小時之後，香辣味就會消失，滴上碘酒也不容易變色。至於山葵粉中的重金屬含量，長庚毒物科主任林杰樑強調，雖然重金屬含量符合標準，但是肝腎不好的人，最好少碰，以免造成身體的負擔。

My MIL bought 1 bag of seaweed last weekend in market. She cooked seaweed soup last night, but something unbelievable happened. She washed and soaked the seaweed, then found the seaweed was different from the normal seaweed she cooked even thought same smell (seaweed smell). The seaweed ...............was a PLASTIC seaweed!!!!! It is made in CHINA . The brand name, importer and distributor as per attached photo.

Pls alert if you want to cook your seaweed soup next time.

It is called Sutchi and I saw many housewives snatching up the fish at supermarkets as they are really reasonably priced. The fish looks good but read the article and you will be shocked.

My colleague who deals with seafood confirmed that this is true. This product is from Vietnam and unless you know the right supplier which most of us won't, so be safe!

To be 100% sure that we're not eating Pangas, better not order fish n chips when eating out!!

Do you eat this frozen fish called Pangas ?

( Pangasius, Vietnamese River Cobbler, White Catfish, Gray Sole )

Industrially farmed in Vietnam along the Mekong River , Pangas or whatever they're calling it, has only been recently introduced to the French market. However, in a very short amount of time, it has grown in popularity in France . The French are slurping up Pangas like it's their last meal of soup noodles. They are very, very affordable (cheap), are sold in filets with no bones and they have a neutral (bland) flavor and texture; many would compare it to cod and sole, only much cheaper. But as tasty as some people may find it, there's, in fact, something hugely unsavory about it.

I hope the information provided here will serve as very important information for you and your future choices. Here's why I think it is better left in the shops (and not on your dinner plates):
1. Pangas are teeming with high levels of poisons and bacteria. ( industrial effluents, arsenic, and toxic and hazardous by-products of the growing industrial sector, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), DDT and its metabolites (DDTs), metal contaminants, chlordane-related compounds (CHLs), hexachlorocyclohexane isomers (HCHs), and hexachlorobenzene (HCB) ).

The reasons are that the Mekong River is one of the most polluted rivers on the planet and this is where pangas are farmed and industries along the river dump chemicals and industrial waste directly into it. To Note: a friend lab tests these fish and tells us to avoid eating them due to high amounts of contamination. Regardless of the reports and recommendations against selling them, the supermarkets still sell them to the general public knowing they are contaminated.

2. They freeze Pangas in contaminated river water.

3. Pangas are not environmentally sustainable, a most unsustainable food you could possibly eat - 'Buy local' means creating the least amount of environmental harm as possible. This is the very opposite end of the spectrum of sustainable consumerism. Pangas are raised in Vietnam . Pangas are fed food that comes from Peru ( more on that below ), their hormones ( which are injected into the female Pangas ) come from China . ( More about that below ) and finally, they are transported from Vietnam to France . That's not just a giant carbon foot print, that's a carbon continent of a foot print.

4. There's nothing natural about Pangas - They're fed dead fish remnants and bones, dried and ground into a flour, from South America , manioc ( cassava ) and residue from soy and grains. This kind of nourishment doesn't even remotely resemble what they eat in nature. But what it does resemble is the method of feeding mad cows ( cows were fed cows, remember? ). What they feed pangas is completely unregulated so there are most likely other dangerous substances and hormones thrown into the mix. The pangas grow at a speed light ( practically! ) : 4 times faster than in nature¡Kso it makes you wonder what exactly is in their food? Your guess is as good as mine.

5. Pangas are Injected with Hormones Derived from Urine - I don't know how someone came up with this one out but they've discovered that if they inject female Pangas with hormones made from the dehydrated urine of pregnant women, the female Pangas grow much quicker and produce eggs faster ( one Panga can lay approximately 500,000 eggs at one time ). Essentially, they're injecting fish with hormones ( they come all of the way from a pharmaceutical company in China ) to speed up the process of growth and reproduction. That isn't good. Some of you might not mind eating fish injected with dehydrated pee, so if you don't, good for you, but just consider the rest of the reasons to NOT eat it..

6. You get what you pay for - and then some. Don't be lured in by insanely cheap price of Pangas. Is it worth risking your health and the health of your family?

7. Buying Pangas supports unscrupulous, greedy evil corporations and food conglomerates that don't care about the health and well-being of human beings. They only are concerned about selling as many pangas as possible to unsuspecting consumers. These corporations only care about selling and making more money at whatever cost to the public.

8. Pangas will make you sick - If ( for reasons in #1 above ) you don't get immediately ill with vomiting, diarrhea and effects from severe food poisoning, congratulations, you have an iron stomach! But you're still ingesting POISON not poisson.

Final important note: Because of the prodigious amount of availability of Pangas, be warned that they will certainly find their way into other foods: surimi ( those pressed fish things, imitation crab sticks), fish sticks, fish terrines, and probably in some pet foods. ( Warn your dogs and cats and hamsters and gerbils and even your pet fish! ) So, when you do your next round of shopping of frozen fish, or eating out at cafes / food stalls by choosing fish-&-chips, think twice !!

WE USED TO GO TO TAMBUN TO HAVE SEAFOOD WITH FREINDS AND FAMILY VERY OFTEN AND USUALY WE WOULD VISIT THE TWO MOST OFTEN SHOPS LOCATED NEAR TO THE END OF THE ROAD.

MOST OF THE TIME WE WOULD GO TO THE SHOP LOCATED RIGHT TO THE END OF THE ROAD WHERE THERES ALWAYS PACK WITH CUSTOMERS BUT RECENTLY WE BROUGHT OUR FAMILY TO THE SHOP WHICH IS MORE EXPENSIVE TO HAVE A TREAT BUT WHAT SHOCK US WAS THE CRABS THAT WE'VE ORDERED!

THERE'S AN OLD AND FAT LADY WITHOUT WEARING UNIFORM APPROACH TO SERVED US AND RECOMENDED US TO HER DISHES. SO WE ORDERED ALL OUR FAVOURITE DISHES BUT SHE PERSUADED US ON ORDERING CRABS COOK WITH BLACK PEPPER. AND SHE EVEN KEEP ON INSISTING US TO TRY BLACK PEPPER CRABS, SO WE FELT SOMETHING FISHY GOING ON.

WE DECIDED TO ORDER JUST PLAIN STEAM CRABS SO WE COULD SEE WETHER THE CRABS ARE FRESH OR NOT.

WE HAD A DELIGHTED DINNER AND JOYOUS TIME ENJOYING THE DINNER WITH OUR FAMILY UNTIL....

THE PARASITES INFESTED CRABS SHOWN UP ON OUR TABLE AS THE LAST DISH FOR THE NIGHT!!

IT WAS MY DADS 64TH BIRTHDAY, SO ME AND MY BROTHER FROM SYDNEY WHO CAN'T ATTEND THE DINNER DECIDED TO GIVE OUR DAD A NICE BIRTHDAY TREAT BECAME A THREAT!!!!!

MY DAD TOOK ONE OF THE CRAB, HE DIDN'T NOTICED ANYTHING WRONG UNTIL THE REST OF THE FAMILY MEMBER WHO WAS GOING TO ATE IT SAW SOMETHING IS IN THE CRABS LOWER PART.

IT LOOKS LIKE CORALS TO US AT 1ST BUT WHEN WE TRY TO LOOK CLOSER, IT ALL LOOKS SOMETHING ELSE!! WHICH WE AND ALL OF THE WAITERS AND STAFFS DIDN'T IDENTIFY THAT SMALL LITTLE CREAPY CREATURES WHERE SOME OF THEM HAVE TINY LITTLE TRANSPARENT TAILS. WHAT ON EARTH WAS THAT!!?? NON OF THE STAFFS FROM THE RESTAURANT COULD IDENTIFY THAT CREATURES.

AFTER A WHILE, THE OLD AND FAT LADY WHOM ATTENDED TO US AT THE ENTRANCE CAME FORTH TO OUR TABLE BECAUSE ALL THE OTHER CUSTOMERS SURROUNDING US ARE STUN TO KNOW WHAT IS THAT THING.

THE OLD LADY CAME AND WE SHOWN HER THE CRABS IN A POLITE WAY. WE JUST WANT AN ANSWER TO IT NOT TO HAVE A FIGHT OR BARGAIN.

STRAIGTH AWAY SHE SPOKE IN A RUDE AND UMANNERED WAY THAT 'YOU ARE THE ONE WHO CHOSE THE CRABS!"

IT'S GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH US! THEN WE ANSWERED, WE DIDN'T CHOSE ANY OF THE CRABS, IT WAS YOU WHO DECIDE ON ALL THE FOOD TO BE SERVED TO US. sHE WAS STUN TO SEE PEOPLE LOOKING AT HER EVEN HER STAFFS. SO SHE YELL BACK TO US SAYING, THE CRABS ARE FRESH AND WE DON'T SERVE DEAD CRABS. YIKES!! WE DIDN'T EVEN MENTION ABOUT DEAD CRABS AT THE 1ST PLACE HOW COME SHE SAID THAT WORD?? From the color itself, you can see that it not fresh.

Everything seems perfect, until we noticed the broken plate... wtf! Bad omen?

1. Broken plates - This is one of the most basic rules especially in those middle to executive class cafés and restaurants, never serve in broken kitchen utensils. Someone might get hurt and blood stain. Thus it is unhygienic.

2. The Fried Rice is too salty.

Recommendation/Substitute: Go for the drinks, especially those named after the tarots cards. They are served with "straws" (get what I mean) and tasty. As for the food, NO!

OLD Town Restaurant, QueensBay Mall

This Monday (27 Apr 09), I have my lunch with family members in Old Town restaurant in QueensBay mall. As you know off, there is an open space restaurant with fence.We choose to sit at table with close to the fence. The food is delicious. When we almost finish our food, we saw cockroach craw on our table. Out of curiosity, we look around to find whether is that anymore around the table. Eventually we found about 6 (big and small) cockroach at the fence (refer to photo attached for 2 craw-croach at fence). So, immediately we call the waite on duty and feedback/ complaint to him but he just walk away without any respond. So, we ask to talk to the Manager/ supervisor. We very dispointed that the captain said they had do cleaning everyday and there is nothing they can do. He sound rude. When I went to the counter to pay the bill, the Manager/ Supervisor bang the file on the small table just behind the cashier to show his angry. The next day, I told this incident to my colleaugues. One of them told me she always have diarrhea after took food in Old town. We have doubt with the hygience of this restaurant.

Received a forward email on this buffet at Khanna Restaurant and try it out. Ended up, DISAPPOINTED. Let me show you what is offered there.

1st Item: Mixed Fruit - This is taste the best of all items. You might agree with me after you check out the rest of the items offered.

2nd Item: Green Peas Pullau - In short, rice. This is like a must, almost all Malaysian need rice. Good!

3rd Item: Khasmiri Tandori Roti - An option besides rice is Tandori roti. Wah! So nice got tandori right? You should know the answer.

4th Item: Potato Wedges Chili Fried- Huh!! Potato

5th Item: Channa Masalla - Even roti canai kuah kacang taste better. Eat this with? Roti or Rice or Potato.

6th Item: Fried Chili's Long Bean - Vegetable. Nothing much to comment.

7th Item: Aloo Mushroom - Very salty and the mushroom is actually the canned bell mushroom.

8th Item: Chicken Korma - Taste bland, even economic rice stall's curry taste better. But I thought this was the best item in the buffet. Read on....

9th Item: Fish Vindaloo - WHAT this is fish? I did not know that, it was not labeled initially. And I only ate potato from this buffet tray. Stupid, right.

10th Item: Last and the least. It is the drink? Orange juice from concentrated bottled juice.

What do you think? Worth it?

Reasons: As the restaurant name Yucky Yucky what do you expect?

Bad service
- Serve good foods at the beginning 6pm, go to grab fast after 7pm
- Long wait for the food to be replenished
- Plates piling up and no waiter collects it

Food not nice
- Non fresh, slightly gone bad raw food to be bbq-ed
- Red wine far worse than even the cheapest (RM18 per bottle)
- Cold cooked food
- Cheapo dessert, jelly and unknown brand ice cream with no ice cream topping, no sweet delicacies like cakes

Bad environment
- Very rude and kiasu crowd, no one queues, mad rush for the food when replenished
- Pasar malam ambiance at non-pasar malam prices

No wonder no photo taking is allowed there. Hahaha....
